When you look at a beautiful forest, you will always find brambles along the edges. These prickles are where life happens - they are a sign of land progressing from a meadow to a mature forest. It is messy, it is sometimes painful, it is full of life. That is where the growth happens.
At Bramblewood Learning Community we use real-world projects, inquiry-based mentoring, and thoughtful, deep discussions to help students find and fulfill their missions, connect and collaborate with groups, and make meaningful contributions to the world around them.

Bramblewood kids learn to embrace the mess of a project, the struggle of learning, and the hard work of collaborating with others. Just like a child drawn to the wild of the woods, children are also drawn to learn by the right environment - an empathetic culture with predictable routines; authentic, real-world problems to solve; beautiful and inspiring ideas; peers that support and challenge; and an atmosphere of playful rigor. It is through focusing on the processes of learning, instead of simply the outcomes, that the brambles bear fruit - the sweetest in the woods!
PRIVATE MEMBERSHIP ASSOCIATION
As you explore our community, you may come across the term "Private Membership Association" (PMA), and we'd like to take a moment to explain what it means and why we've chosen this organizational structure.

What is a Private Membership Association (PMA)?
A Private Membership Association is a legal entity formed by a group of individuals who join together for a common purpose. It is upheld by law under our freedom to associate. In our case, Bramblewood Learning Community is organized as a PMA to provide a unique and supportive environment for homeschooling families. By becoming members of our association, families participate in a collective effort to create an educational community that aligns with our shared values and goals.

Why Bramblewood Learning Community is a PMA:
Autonomy and Independence: Being a Private Membership Association allows us the freedom to operate independently and make decisions that best serve the needs and aspirations of our community members. This autonomy empowers us to tailor our educational approach to the unique requirements of our families.
Customized Educational Experience: As a PMA, we have the flexibility to design and implement a curriculum that reflects our educational philosophy and values. This enables us to offer a personalized and enriching learning experience for our students.
Community Collaboration: Bramblewood Learning Community is built on the principles of collaboration and shared responsibility. As members of a PMA, families actively contribute to the development and growth of our educational community, fostering a sense of belonging and support.
Privacy and Protection: The PMA structure provides an additional layer of privacy and protection for our members.
